When you wash your hair thoroughly in the shower, hair that is already loose or disconnected from your scalp can congregate near the drain. While it might look like a lot, you are perhaps seeing normal hair shedding. When you look down at the drain and see a clump of lost hair strands, it is quite easy to assume that you are suffering hair loss. But you should know that some hair loss is normal for everyone and at every age. Keep reading to find out more.

Lifecycle of hair

There are hundreds of thousands of hair on your head, and every single one of them is at a different stage of its two-year to five-year lifespan. Hair grows and dies in phases.

The phase in which a hair strand is growing is called the “anagen” phase, and 90% of the hair strands you have are currently in that phase. Hair grows about 1 centimetre per month during the anagen phase. When something stops your hair from growing, it is called anagen effluvium.

The catagen phase comes next. Only about 1-2% of your hair is in the catagen phase at any given time. This phase lasts two to three weeks. The hair strand stops growing during the catagen phase.

The telogen phase is the last phase of hair growth. Hair in the telogen phase is also called “club hair.” During this phase, a hair strand will be at rest as it prepares to detach from your scalp. About 8-9% of your hair is in this phase at any given time.

Telogen effluvium describes having more than 10% of your hair in the telogen phase. Telogen effluvium is short-term, but more hair will fall out while you have it.

Homeopathy treatment for hair loss

Read further to know how homeopathy treatment in initial stages prevents baldness. Homoeopathy has wonderful results in the treatment of hair loss. Though androgenic hair loss has bad prognosis and best possible treatment available for this type is to prevent further loss of hair and regrowth of hair is not possible. But apart from androgenic hair loss where we can just help the patient to prevent further hair loss, other types of hair loss can be treated well and regrowth of hair can be seen.

Medicines in homoeopathy are chosen after thorough case taking of the patient that is only after knowing the constitution and the exact cause of the hair loss. Maintaining the cause of the problem should also be removed for better treatment of the problem. If you are using any sort of chemical then it is advised to leave it; those under any sort of treatment are counselled about the cause and about the chances and time period for regrowth of hair.

Conclusion

If you are experiencing hair loss that is unusual for you, including bald spots, patchiness, and clumps of hair falling out, you should book an appointment and consult your homeopath. A gradual thinning on the top of your head, the appearance of patchy or bald spots on your scalp, and full-body hair loss are signs that there may be an underlying health condition.
