Every man and woman desires a picture perfect glowing skin. Stressful lifestyle, long working hours, inadequate sleep, unhealthy eating habits, not being spared by pollution, harmful sun-rays, bad habits like smoking and alcohol are the main contributory factors which make our skin age faster and it loses its shine and becomes dull. It’s still not late; there are still a few days before the festivities set in. Following the below mentioned tips would help you have a glowing skin this festive season.

  1. Exfoliate your dead skin
Removing the dead skin cells helps to clear the dull looking skin and reveal the glowing skin underneath. Here’s a simple home remedy which can help you to gently exfoliate your skin. Take 2 tablespoons of rice flour and one teaspoon of turmeric powder and make a paste with rose water or milk (as per your preference). Apply this mixture on your face and let it stay for 15-20minutes. Pat your skin wet and wash your face with water. Turmeric is a natural exfoliator and helps to remove the dead skin cells. Rice flour absorbs all the sebum and leaves your skin clean, smooth and re-energized. Its coarse texture helps to scrub away the dead skin cells.

  2. De-tan your sun burnt skin with this simple home remedy
Tomatoes don’t just taste great but they are known since ages to give a lighter glowing skin. Tomatoes contain lycopene which is an antioxidant; hence it works as a good de-tanning agent and a natural sunscreen. Has your hectic work schedule not allowed you to de-tan your skin? So this is the most simple and easy way to de-tan your skin and make it light and glowing this festival. Take pulp of 1 tomato and leave it on your skin for not more than 10 minutes and then wash your skin. You can do this at a gap of every 5days. If you do this, you will find that your skin has become less oily, your open pores will close and the skin tome will get lighter. Added advantage is for the scars and blemishes becoming lighter.

  3. Last moment glow with Ice-cubes
Yes you have read that right. Ice cubes are known to be a brilliant home remedy for last minute glowing skin. Just take an ice cube and gently rub over your face. It helps to increase the blood circulation of the skin and leaves your cheeks rosy. When the blood circulation to the skin increases it also helps the new skin cells growth and fades the wrinkles and fine lines.

Apart from the above mentioned home remedies for a great glowing skin you also need to cleanse your body from within. The glow on your face will show when your blood circulation is free from toxins. So drink adequate water. Atleast 8 to 10 glasses per day. Say a big “No” to junk foods. Exercise for better blood circulation. Make Dr. Batra’s sunscreen your friend to avoid skin tanning.
