Eczema

Growing up with eczema skin disease was extremely lonely. I felt like I was living all alone on ‘Eczema Island’ just itching to get off. As much as I tried to fit in with my fellow peers, my skin eczema always stood out. I never have been part of any family or friends group pictures until I got to know about safe make-up products for my eczema skin disease.

Besides treating my eczema symptoms with safe and natural homeopathic treatment, I learned to apply make-up on my skin eczema. Initially, it was difficult for me to identify the ‘safest products’ for eczema skin but now I have become a pro. Hence, if you are also suffering from this skin condition and want to shift the focus off your eczema skin, you can keep these tips in mind.

Safe make-up tips for eczema skin disease –

  • Moisturize your skin twice a day: Dry, itchy, and flaky skin are a few common symptoms of eczema. Therefore, keep your skin as smooth and moist as possible by applying moisturizer a minimum of twice a day - after a shower and before bedtime. Choose a rich, non-comedogenic moisturizer (won’t clog your pores).
  • Always do a ‘patch-test’ for cosmetics: Get in the habit of doing a patch test of any makeup product on your neck or forearm before applying it to your face. If a product causes itching, redness, or irritation, stop using it immediately. This activity will let you know whether a product suits your skin eczema.
  • Use fingers not brushes: When you have eczema skin disease, it turns out that your fingers are your best friend. Applying make-up with clean fingers, not brushes can make all the difference. Brushes can often contain hidden bacteria, even if you clean them regularly. Dabbing make-up on instead of spreading or smearing is also a good way to not further irritate the skin. So, wash your hands thoroughly before applying make-up.
  • Look for ‘hypoallergenic’ products: Purchase products that are labeled as ‘hypoallergenic’, as they are said to be made up of natural or organic products. They are less likely to cause allergic reactions. Make sure the makeup is free of fragrance, dyes, alcohols, parabens, oils, mercury and mercury containing products, and talc. It’s also best to look for cosmeceuticals (include ingredients that reduce inflammation) and products containing anti-inflammatory ingredients like niacinamide and antioxidants.
  • Shimmer is not your friend: Shimmery products can make your eczema skin dry and cause skin irritation, so it is better to avoid such products.
  • Don’t forget to remove your make-up: To prevent irritating existing eczema symptoms, it’s essential that you remove your make-up at the end of the day. Use a mild, unscented cleanser that won’t impact your skin’s pH levels. Gently lather your skin with lukewarm water and rub your face with your fingertips, then rinse it off thoroughly. Avoid harsh scrubbing.
  • Get experts advice: Before using any cosmetics on your skin, it is best to take advice from your doctor. Depending on the severity of your eczema skin disease, the doctor may advice you right products. With the right treatment, your flare-ups will get reduced thereby giving you clearer skin. You can take help of holistic homeopathy treatment for eczema. The homeopathy treatment will reduce intensity, frequency as well as the duration of your eczema skin condition. It will also take care of your emotional health.
