Female Infertility

Infertility means inability to have a child even after one year of unprotected sex. For having a child both the partners should have normal reproductive functions. However, infertility is rising in current times with around 27.5 million couples in India who are unable to have children as a result of infertility.

For female to have an effective reproductive process:

  • She needs to ovulate regularly (monthly)
  • Her fallopian tubes should be intact & functioning properly (no blockages)
  • Her uterus should be normal without any deformities
  • Sperm quality and quantity (in male partner) should be good.

So, what is it that affects female infertility?

Following may be the common reason for female infertility:

  • For female to get pregnant, egg has to be released every month (process is known as ovulation). If there is any ovulatory dysfunction, which means if female is unable to ovulate every month, there may be a problem for the female to get pregnant (happens mostly in conditions like PCOS)
  • Fallopian tubes play an important role in meeting of egg and sperm, which ultimately leads to fertilization. Therefore, if fallopian tubes are blocked, fertilization does not occur. Pelvic inflammatory disease, previous surgery in abdomen or pelvis or pelvic tuberculosis can lead to tubal blockage which may lead to female infertility.
  • If egg is released, tubes are normal and egg has been fertilized by sperm, but if uterus is unable to receive fertilized egg then pregnancy can’t be carried further. It is therefore important for the uterus to be normal to receive fertilized egg. Benign polyps or tumors in uterus can disrupt implantation. Endometriosis scarring or inflammation within the uterus can disrupt implantation. Uterine abnormalities present from birth, such as an abnormally shaped uterus, can cause problems becoming or remaining pregnant.
  • Cervical stenosis, a cervical narrowing, can be caused by an inherited malformation or damage to the cervix. Sometimes the cervix can't produce the best type of mucus to allow the sperm to travel through the cervix into the uterus
  • Unexplained infertility: In some instances, a cause for infertility is never found. It's possible that a combination of several minor factors in both partners underlie these unexplained fertility problems.

So, first it is important to find out the cause of infertility whether male or female and in particular what is the root cause is the major factor to find out.

Homoeopathic treatment considers person as a whole, which includes all ailments and general, physical and mental factors of patient. It increases patient’s immunity and gives overall best results.
