Irregular Periods and Weight gain were my Enemies
Nidhi (21), a MBA student said she had irregular menses and inability to lose weight. In the last 4months she had out on 10kgs. She attributed to this to her inactivity and sedentary lifestyle. She also complained of hairloss and hair thinning. It also lacked sheen and luster. Of, late she was intolerant of cold and would switch off the fan, much to annoyance of her siblings, even during the summer months. Her mother was a follower of homoeopathy and consulted her family homoeopathic doctor with Nidhi. Based on her symptoms, she was advised by her homeopath to get the blood test done for thyroid. Her detailed case analysis showed that she felt insecure with her varied anxieties and fears. She was also indecisive by nature and often craved for support of others. Based on her personality she was prescribed homoeopathic medicines. Her blood reports showed that she suffered from hypothyroid. She was advised a diet routine with the homeopathic medicines and was also advised to repeat the thyroid values after 6months. Her thyroid levels were now back to normal, her menstrual rhythm was restored, her sensitivity to cold was reduced and she was able to shed her excess weight too.
Hypothyroidism develops when the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. When your thyroid gland is unable to make the required amount of thyroid hormones you end up having too little thyroid hormones this is what hypothyroidism is all about. Some of the common causes are severe iodine deficiency, pregnancy, radioactive iodine treatment or surgery of thyroid gland, or defective thyroid gland, pituitary disease and certain medications or drugs. Common symptoms include fatigue, depressions, weight gain, intolerance to cold, excessive sleepiness, dry, coarse hair, constipation, dry skin, muscle cramps, increased cholesterol levels, decreased concentration, vague aches and pains and swelling of the legs. Diagnosis is confirmed by your doctor by ordering blood test of thyroid hormones and anti-thyroid antibodies or in worst cases would ask for thyroid scan if there is swelling of the thyroid gland as seen in cases of goitre. It is best to speak to a doctor. Self-diagnosis is not recommended.
Homoeopathy for Hypothyroid
Homoeopathy helps to produce thyroid hormone naturally by stimulating the immune system and helps in better functioning of the thyroid gland.
Homoeopathic remedies work by stimulating the body’s own healing capacity by encouraging the body to reactivate hormone secretions.
Homeopathy is free from any side-effects. Not only do homoeopathic medicines reduce hairloss but they also protect the body from harmful side-effects that are common with conventional drugs.
Stress causes hormonal disturbances in the body like thyroid problems which are known to cause hairloss and weight gain which is very effectively treated with homeopathy.
Homoeopathy is a mind-body medicine. Homoeopathy treats not only the physical complaints, but also targets the mind and gently restores mind-body equilibrium- thus it treats the patient as a whole.
A complete recovery is possible in most cases with homoeopathy.
