Manisha was twisting and turning in her bed and she took a look at the bed clock. 3.20 A.M. This was unusual for her as she didn’t have a problem of insomnia before the last month. This month was different, Manisha glanced at her husband fast asleep beside her. She closed her eyes and hoped to drift off but then just like a wave her upper body began to feel hot from the inside. She sat up to catch a deep breath and that’s when she realized she was sweating profusely despite the air conditioner working perfectly fine.

She sat there for a good one minute till the bizarre hot wave passed and then she headed towards the kitchen to pour herself a glass of water. “OH! It feels good”, she whispered to herself. She had a fair bit of idea what was wrong with her, it was obvious, she had been missing her periods which had been regular till now. ‘But, I am just 42’, thinking this she fired up her phone and typed ‘Menopause symptoms’ into it.

The following symptoms of menopause showed up:

  1. Insomnia :

Lack of sleep during menopause is a common symptom.

  2. Hot flashes :

Hot flashes are a sudden feeling of heat either in the upper portion of your body or all over. Your face and neck might turn red, and you may feel sweaty or flushed. The intensity is different for person to person. It generally lasts from 30 seconds to 10 minutes.

  3. Night Sweats :

Hot flashes that occur during night are called night sweats.

  4. Urinary problems :

Women may feel the need to visit the loo more frequently than normal and are more susceptible to Urinary tract infections.

  5. Irregular periods :

Changes to the menstrual pattern are the first noticeable symptoms of menopause. Some women may experience a period every 2 to 3 weeks. Others will not menstruate for months at a time.

  6. Dryness of vagina :

Vaginal dryness can make intercourse painful and may cause them to lightly bleed or feel like they need to urinate frequently.

  7. Loss of libido :

Women lose interest in sex due to reduced estrogen levels.

  8. Skin & hair :

During menopause the skin becomes dry and hair loss is a common symptom.

  9. Mood swings :

Anxiety, irritation and sudden mood alterations become common.

Manisha was experiencing almost most of these symptoms. But she was a little young to be going through menopause. She searched for premature menopause and found that almost 5% women in India go through early menopause by the age of 41. There were a number of causes listed for early menopause like genetics, smoking, epilepsy, auto-immune diseases and chemotherapy. She silently cursed herself for not quitting smoking.

She immediately started searching for treatment and remedies that could help alleviate her symptoms and help her get through transition more effectively. She read about many options like minoxidil for hair loss, sleep medications, anti-dandruff shampoos, topical creams and vaginal lubricants. But, all of these came with an array of side-effects and problems of their own.

But one topic held her attention, Homeopathy. She dug deep and came across research papers and cases where homeopathic medicines like Lachesis mutus, Belladonna, Sepia Officinalis, Sulphur and Sanguinaria Canadensis were prescribed to multiple women across the globe.

She found out that that homeopathic treatment for hot flushes in menopausal women is effective and 90% of women who took homeopathic treatment found relief from their symptoms without side-effects like:

  1. Decrease in hot flashes
  2. Reductions in mood swings
  3. Control of weight gain
  4. Hair loss reduction
  5. Improvement in quality of skin

Manisha then looked for the best medical facility for homeopathic treatments and she came across Dr Batra’s, who had successfully treated more than 90,000 patients with all types of menopause-related issues, with a success rate of 94%. Their customized treatment plan and patient feedback made her confident of how she wanted to handle her menopause.

She logged on to www.drbatras.com and booked an appointment for the next day and then slipped into the bedroom and somehow she closed her eyes and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.
