Liver – disease to ease - healing the liver homeopathically

Is life worth living? It depends upon the liver. These days, both the liver (meaning the person) and his or her liver (meaning the organ) are under constant stress. Usually caused by infections or alcoholism, liver troubles due to autoimmune disorders or drug-induced toxicity are on the rise. Self-medication and pill-popping in a generation that always looks for quick solutions has led to an increasing incidence of liver disorders.

The liver, a vital organ with over 500 functions, is a silent sufferer. It does not produce symptoms until it is too late, thus the need to be careful. Once liver failure begins due to cirrhosis, not much can be done to rescue the organ. A liver transplant becomes the only solution, which is expensive and also has a low survival rate.

Patients with an acutely inflamed liver may get yellowish eyes and skin, called jaundice, along with fever, appetite loss, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, light-coloured stools, or dark yellow urine. Patients with chronic liver disease have vague symptoms like abdominal discomfort, heaviness, indigestion, flatulence, tiredness, or generalised weakness.

A light bland diet – low in fat, moderate in protein, and high in fibre and carbohydrate – along with the apt homeopathic remedy, can treat liver diseases. Homeopathy keeps the patient’s personality, mentality and physical symptoms in mind. A remedy like Nux Vomica would suit people who handle high-pressure jobs, binge on rich and fatty foods, and indulge in social or habitual drinking. It’s true that your liver is your carburettor. Choke it and you would probably make a dead start instead of a head start!
